The position of Coordinator Arboriculture is a diverse leadership role that supports the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of Council's open space assets including trees in streets, parks and reserves.
This is an ideal opportunity for a person with a strong horticulture and arboriculture background, capable of operating at both a high strategic level but also at an operational level. You will manage our Tree Management Framework, coordinate arboriculture projects, develop and manage tree planting and tree maintenance programs. Planning and monitoring activities for work groups across a structured framework along with supporting Field Supervisors to ensure cost effective day to day planning for resources is a deliverable of this position.
Communication skills are paramount to this role as you will need to build rapport with a broad group of stakeholders and inspire action whilst effectively negotiating outcomes. Written communication skills are also critical as report writing, research and analysing data are key aspects to the role.
Your passion for arboriculture and horticulture is evident but you know how to balance this with a practical approach to doing what is best for the local community. Ideally you hold a Diploma (or higher) in Horticulture (Arboriculture) and have prior experience in local government within South Australia.
